Romy Block is an artist and graphic designer, born in Cape Town and raised in Toronto. She majored in Painting and Drawing at OCADU, while also exploring other mediums such as printmaking, jewelry design, and bookbinding during her tenure. Later she studied Graphic Design at George Brown College. While primarily a painter, she also creates through sculpture, papercraft, and digital illustration. Romy’s practice frequently explores the themes of connection, community, and isolation. As well, she has a fascination for the macabre as a form of catharsis. She lives in downtown Toronto with her two cats.
